MACRO BELIEF SYSTEMS

Up to this point, we have looked at beliefs from the perspective of the individual. Let us now examine groups of individual belief systems and the way we are subject to and/or master of the prevailing, or overriding, composite belief system.

The big picture is made up of little pictures of the big picture, and so on. Each cell in ones body contains the DNA blueprint of ones entire body. And just as ones body is made up of various organs each which perform a specific function, groups of people work together to become a single organ of the body of society.

A school of fish swims like a single fish- a single fish with one mind. If any one fish in the school jumps, the whole school jumps. If the threat is real, this cohesion could save the entire school, if however, the threat is not real, it causes the entire school to become stressed without reason. We can learn allot about the behavior of a mob, or controlling belief system, by looking at the behavior of the individual and vice versa.

Cohesion is good within like groups. It means that all components of a system are working together for the good of the system. The alternative is chaos. For example, if there are six people in a rowboat headed for a deadly waterfall and half row for the left shore and the other half row for the right shore, then it almost guarantees that the rowboat will go straight over the falls and kill everyone in the boat! Had the group been able to come to some decision on which way to go, all would be saved. Even if a majority wanted to go one direction then they might be saved because the effort exerted by four people rowing one way would more than offset the effort exerted by two people rowing the other way. The beliefs of the four (majority), overrides the beliefs of the two (minority). We can say then, that if all six people row one way, the belief system of the boat is highly cohesive. If three people row one way and three row the other way then the boat system is not cohesive.

Cohesion is an important factor in how quickly the rowboat gets to shore. The more cohesive the people rowing, the quicker the boat will get to shore. Cohesion becomes increasingly important the closer the rowboat gets to the waterfall. There may not be enough time to get to shore if four people are rowing one way and two people are rowing the other way.

But wait! Just because everyone agrees doesn't mean that the decision is correct. Often, the many are less correct than the few. When thousands of lemmings run off a cliff together, they may be cohesive, but it certainly doesn't mean they came to the best decision. "Group Think" is the word given to the process by which a group together is more in error than any one person alone would be. It is this type of mob mentality that is a cause of much error. It happens by compromising against one's own better judgement in order to enable the system. If one is in a group seeking enlightenment, compromising to the weakest link in the chain, how can anyone find the truth? The compromising of members of a group will cause error unless each member is accountable, held responsible, and given authority over, themselves, and their particular expertise.

It is important for those who operate within a component to be of like mind, however all organs and all components of a system should not and do not perform the same function. Some people are bakers and some people are candlestick makers. One doesn't need candlestick makers in the bakery or bakers in the candle shop.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, as the case may be, in a democracy, the controlling belief and needs of the many overrides the beliefs and needs of the one or the few. (Unless the system requires unanimity before making a decision.) This means that if you have your own unique belief system, or are a member of a minority belief system, then you are at the mercy of the prevailing system, regardless of the truth of your belief.

FOLLOWERS

Following is believing. A follower is only as good as the one he or she follows. If one follows a sick lemming off the edge of a cliff, then one is no better off than that particular lemming and will meet the same fate. However, if one follows perfection, one gains the benefit of perfection without being perfect oneself. Despite what one may have found, believing in others will not always lead one astray. If you were in a herd of lemmings headed for a cliff, but changed your mind when you heard a lamb at the edge of the cliff instructing you to turn away and rest, you would not meet the same fate as the others.

IDENTITY

Whatever you believe in, you have identity in. Following is identity. Whenever two or more people have a single common belief, they have identity in that belief. If you and your friend could ski, then you both certainly believe in skiing, and you both could be considered "skiers". You would share in the identity of being "a skier". Any belief that can be held by more than one person is a macro belief. If only one person in the world could ski, that person would not be "a skier", he or she would be "the skier", and skiing would not be a macro belief. The more beliefs we share with someone, the more we are like them, the more we are likely to do what they do, the more we are likely to group ourselves with them, and the more we are likely to be grouped with them.

Although each of us has a unique personality, it is amazing how much of ones identity comes from ones geographic environment. Ones environment plays the single most important role in shaping ones personality. If one is raised in a city, one is likely to be a "city slicker". If one is raised in the country, one is likely to be a "country bumpkin". Think of how different people are that are raised in different parts of this country. If you interview several people in a room, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who is from the south, who is from the north, and who is from California. The geographic origin of the people is reflected in their accents and vernacular. Now, think of how different people are who live in the heart of Africa, Asia, Japan, and Russia. Ones environment imprints itself upon ones belief system because one is the product of ones observations.

ARE TWO HEADS BETTER THAN ONE?

In mythology there is a many headed dragon called the "Hydra" which is the terror of any warrior who should pass its lair. Can such a beast exist? In our local zoo they have a two-headed snake. The zoo keeper told me this snake could only exist in captivity because they separate the heads with a partition to feed it and keep it from attacking itself. The zoo keeper also said that the snake fights with itself on which direction to go- hardly proof that two heads are better than one.

Two heads are better than one only as long as both heads are thinking and both heads are working together towards a solution for the common good in a timely manner without compromising on an essential. When any head of the "Hydra" begins to exhibit self-interest, how can a solution be reached for the common good? Since two heads are not naturally better than one, a certain set of rules has to be introduced in order to create
a system in which they are. These rules are what create governments and laws, and enable a system to exist.

GOVERNMENT

Ultimately, there is only one true government. One true law. One great crown we are all subject too. It does not matter where you live, what your race is, or what language you speak. One either stands beneath the one great crown of God, or becomes an enemy to the crown.

Unfortunately, many people don't think of God when they think of government. Many people don't even know God. As Adolf Hitler once said, "What luck for rulers that men don't think." America was originally designed to be "One nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all." Boy, have things changed for the worse!

Government, as practiced by mankind, seems to be a chain for every citizen whose sole purpose is to limit freedom for the good of the many. And truly, government cannot give you anything it has not already taken away. The more you are "given" by the government, the more "taxes" are taken from you. What the government is saying is that it knows how to spend your money better than you do! A nation's government should be limited to enforcing the laws and opinions of the citizens it represents, not dictating them.

A government ruled by the majority belief invariably denies any minority belief, and a government ruled by any minority belief system invariably denies the majority belief system. Although there is only one true belief system, the one of God, it is unlikely that everyone will follow any one belief system. Solution was thought to lie in joint rule by all belief systems but in which the essential interests of any one system are not compromised. (This of course is impossible if there is no agreement on essential interests.) Subsequently, our nation which began as "One nation, under God", has since been compromised into "Many nations under anything but God" instead of "Many nations under God".)

Solution truly lies only in the one true belief system of God, if all sub-systems could agree upon it. Most importantly, there must be equality in justice and opportunity for all citizens of any composite belief system. How long can a system stand where justice is bought and sold and opportunity is dependent upon inheritance? Ultimately, in the Universe, there will remain only one belief system, the one which is true. After all, God is ultimately in charge.

A country should not be identified by its geographical borders. The borders drawn by mankind are hardly recognized by God. It is belief systems which create cohesion and define nations. Wherever there are people with like beliefs, there is their nation. Thus, any believer of any belief system is like a seed which can germinate anywhere. History has shown us that the only ways to destroy an aberrant belief system is to either destroy or convert every believer in that system. Such attempts have usually done more harm than good. Unfortunately, though all that is truly necessary to lead people to truth is to show love and lead people to God by example, not force, there will always remain those incorrigible people who despise God.

All countries will eventually come to an end geographically, but the beliefs and ideas which created that country in the first place will live on. For instance, while the Roman empire has been dissolved, much of the language, philosophy, architecture, and ideas of that time remain. Rome is where the Romans are.

America was founded on the idea of freedom of religion, regardless of Christian denomination. This was to allow for tolerance of non-essential Christian beliefs. However, the liberty did not extend to religions outside the orthodoxy of Christianity. Today it is taught that this country was founded on the idea of "separation between church and state" yet there is no such mention in the Constitution. It would seem that the idea of "freedom of religion" has somehow evolved into "freedom from religion." The problem arising here is that it is impossible really to separate the Church entirely from the state. After all, if you separate the state from the Church, then the state becomes tolerant of non-Christian beliefs, or sin, something that is not acceptable to the Church. Christians cannot live in Babylon. To tolerate sin is to sin. The truth one lives by in the spirit must be in alignment with the truth one lives by in the flesh.

Citizens of a nation are willing to submit to the authority of their government only in as far as it is in alignment with their beliefs. If the government tells a citizen to murder, but he or she believes murder is wrong, he or she will not murder. The more offensive the government belief system is to the individual belief system, the less cohesive and less likely the individual or people will act according to their government's demands. All of the great sins perpetuated by mankind are the result of putting the authority of a person, position, or government, above the authority of God. In a world where all are equal, what room is there for ranks and royalty?

REPRESENTATION

If the "ruling class" is not the "working class", then the working class must have representation or they will not work. A system in which the working class has no vote will invariably become a system in which they do. History has shown us time and time again that the oppressed shall rise up to take control from their oppressors. But today the castle walls are becoming stronger and stronger with the latest high tech defenses. Today control can be maintained from castles which cannot be found. How then to overthrow the controlling belief system? Has history been beaten, or is it still compelled to repeat itself? Can a government with no fear of being overthrown resist the urge to oppress its citizens? When machines become the working class, what need of a working class?

A working class made up of members of many different belief systems is not cohesive and is difficult to represent. Such difficulties in representing everyone can result in legislation that makes the chain only as strong as the weakest link until equality can be reached. Equality can only be reached with increased communication amongst components of the system. There exist religious, cultural, geographical, economic, and linguistic barriers, to name a few, which keep members of one belief system from communicating with members of another belief system. Without communication there is no understanding or representation. Without communication there exists only miscommunication.

But what good is democracy when every decision decided by a simple majority vote brings unique benefit to a group other than the majority of individuals voting? What good is our so-called "democracy" when lobbyist's are allowed to pay our elected officials the price required to turn their heads from the truth and their hearts from the citizens they represent. It would seem that the leaders of democracy are the only real beneficiaries of democracy. Only leaders, and perhaps the majority itself are ever represented, never any minority group regardless of its need and regardless of the truth they may hold. Unfortunately, it also appears that leaders of minority groups may actually benefit personally by maintaining a certain level of fear and hatred towards the majority group even if it is unwarranted. After all, if one is selling cures to the sickness the majority is causing, one stays in business by making sure people know they are sick.

Ones God is a God one may oneself elect. It might be the only real vote that each of us may cast which counts. There are many concepts running for this high office. For it is an office above all others. Money is running for God, and sadly, has been elected by many. I am campaigning for Christ. Jesus for God. I have cast my vote, and so I have elected my God.

DEFENSE

Defending truth is the only worthwhile defense. When I say defending truth, I mean the way to truth, the needs of truth, the fruits of truth, etc. Defending truth does not mean keeping people from it, but keeping people from destroying it. In other words, defending the holiness of truth.

However, what good is defense if one allows everything to be stolen away and/or trampled upon? Why guard the doors and leave the windows unlocked? There is no price too great to pay including ones life to defend the truth. One may loose one's life to save the truth and yet retain one's spirit, but to let the truth be destroyed to save one's life is to loose one's spirit, and thus, have no life at all. As Patrick Henry said, "Give me liberty, or give me death!"

Even though one may guard the doors and windows, one may be pillaged from within ones own foundations. Roaches and termites may be eating at the backbone of ones system and carrying it off while one watches in disbelief. Do not let anyone turn the well one drinks from into a latrine. Though sheep are welcome into the fold, the fold must be closely guarded against wolves, especially wolves in sheep's clothing.

Ones system may have the greatest military, but the worst defense. How can one allow ones resources to be taken, ones technology to be stolen, ones borders to be usurped, ones financial base to be mismanaged, and ones beliefs to be condemned from within. Ones only hope is that the termites and roaches within ones borders may bite off more than they can chew. What is one defending oneself from? Defend only truth from evil, all other defense makes oneself the evil. There is no defense against God.

LIQUID EXCHANGE

The easier the means of exchange, the more efficient trade becomes and the quicker things change. The word "exchange" has the word "change" right in it. The means of exchange must be agreed upon by all systems so that trade is fluid. However, what is value based upon? Too often, perceived value becomes valueless quickly by changes in the observation of its worth. The means of exchange have become so efficient today that it could be said to have metaphorically moved from liquid to gaseous form.

COMMUNICATION

Cohesive communication may be a system's greatest strength. After all, information is everything. From any phone one may call anyone else in ones country and communicate observations and ideas. Should news break out, ones system may be quickest to capture and communicate any news to a large audience. Thus, ones system has the means to be very cohesive. There are so many belief systems in any one nation, however, that the system may be losing cohesion while the sub-systems fight for equality and equilibrium. When there is bickering in ones belief system, ones system may come to the best overall decision eventually, but by the time one comes up with it, much global opportunity may be foregone. The "information super-highway" of global computer networks in the hands of private citizens is sure to be a factor in the future of communication.

RESOURCES-NATURAL AND HUMAN

Resources are potential wealth. There is not a fixed amount of wealth in the world. Wealth is being created all the time as resources are turned into finished goods and services. When evil belief systems are seeking new resources or to regain lost resources, and they cannot or will not come to a peaceful agreement, they find that next to war, fear is the best way to drive off the controlling belief system.

By converting, driving out, or eliminating minority belief systems which exist within the controlling system, the controlling belief system finds itself more cohesive and gains the resources lost by the minority system. Just as the Nazis drove out the Jewish belief system from Germany during World War II, this same fear tactic is used today by taggers and gangs promoting fear to drive out the controlling belief system. Slavery and prison labor are two examples of how a controlling belief system exploits minority systems for its own gain.

God owns everything including all the land and all resources that come from the land. No race, religious group, people, corporation, or government owns anything in God's eyes. The land was here before anyone. This in mind, be careful what you take from the land and/or call your own.

TRANSPORTATION

In order to move resources to manufacturing or market, a transportation base is necessary. Ones nation already may have a great transportation base, or infrastructure, within its own boundaries. This is great for manufacturing and trade within ones country, but it is through transportation and trade with other countries that wealth comes to a nation. The control of transportation is a resources itself. For example, look at the fighting over the Panama and Suez canals. Look at the tolls collected on some turnpikes. Today, even flight routes are bought and sold.

Transportation methods have changed greatly over the last century. From stagecoach, to train, to auto, to plane, resources are moved from place to place across the Earth. In the same way that hermit crabs have adopted shells, humans have adapted their environments to suit their needs for transportation and protection. Until this century, resources were moved slowly across the face of the Earth. Now, resources are moved at high speeds not only over the face of the Earth, but over the air in planes and underneath the Earth in elaborate tunnels and submarines.

The speed of the transfer of information on Earth, just in the last hundred years, has moved from the speed that a horse could run, to the speed of light. Information is sent out in radio waves and moved across telephone lines at nearly the speed of light. Communication forms are being integrated rapidly. TV, radio, telephone, and computer Internet activity are being merged into one tool. Already, on the Internet, one may send and access information all over the world almost instantly, at the touch of a button. The Earth is turning on.

MANUFACTURING

A system should have control over its own manufacturing. The quest for cheaper labor has caused some systems to move their manufacturing base out of their geographic control. Although "controlled" from within ones geographic boundaries, these manufacturing facilities will soon learn to manage things themselves and learn to despise the foreign owners and managers who brought manufacturing and jobs in the first place.

Look at South Africa as an example. Exploitation breeds contempt. Foreign investment can be observed as rape to the native peoples, even if such investment improves life for the natives. Should a war break out, countries who are not self-sufficient for all their needs within their own borders are at the mercy of those who control their resources and/or manufacturing. If a country has its manufacturing within its borders, it will be in a better position to convert those factories to war purposes should the need arise.

BALANCED TRADE OR SURPLUS TRADE

If there is a trade deficit, then ones nation is dying, by losing wealth. Just as a person will bleed to death if one doesn't bandage a wound, a country will bleed to death if it is giving more blood than it is getting. What's more, the illegal trade deficit is just as dangerous as the regular trade deficit. A system may be bleeding and not even know it! On the reverse, a nation that is sucking the blood out of another nation like a mosquito will one day be slapped. Trade agreements should be balanced to be fair. In order to be balanced, they must contain adjustments for the illegal trade of goods and services.

COMPETITION

Competition is the struggle between like components for position within the system. Fear of competition is just an excuse. There is a new and better way to do almost everything, or at least an improvement which can be made to almost anything or any existing system. It is true that cohesion creates competition amongst like components. However, cohesion also decreases competition in that there are fewer different needs when all components are the same. Creating other nations like ones own creates ones own competition, but decreases the needs for differing products because others are becoming more alike. Thus, what is called the imperialism of the world by America is good for American business because it creates new markets for American goods.

EDUCATION

What good is democracy if the majority are not educated enough to cast an educated vote. Education creates a talent resource, but if the cost of education is greater than the benefits it was designed to provide, it is fruitless. Education is the key to the door of belief and success, but the key must fit the lock, and the lock must open the door, and the door must exist!

The object of education is to provide truthful knowledge which leads to truthful beliefs, thereby reducing ignorance. Education is not enough, for what good is an education if no one trusts the knowledge of the educated? Society, or at least some portion of it, must believe in those who are educated, if not, then they will still have no opportunity. What good is an education if the educated do not have access to the resources their education demands.

Education itself must begin with the very young, before they have accumulated too many aberrant beliefs. After all, there is some truth to the expression, "you can't teach an old dog new tricks." Truthful education increases and corrects the information one gathers. Education increases truthful knowledge which eradicates misinformation and decreases doubt. Increases in such knowledge, increases choices, which increases opportunities to get one where one wants to go the way one wants to get there.

A child is a "chip off the old block". If ones parents are highly educated and successful members of society, then one is oneself more likely to be highly educated and successful. Sadly, however, if ones parents are poorly educated, then one is also likely to be poorly educated. Despite attempts by society at large to educate these less fortunate children, they often wrongly learn that education is fruitless from their poorly educated parents and community. They learn to believe the excuses of those within their environment and the coping mechanisms which their environment provides rather than the truth that education equals freedom. Thus, the rejection of education results in the reinforcement of aberrant beliefs and a self-fulfilling prophecy of poverty and frustration. Poverty and frustration often erupt into rioting and violence rather than in the realization that education is the only way out.

MACRO ENABLING

One of the newest phenomenon gathering notice today could be called macro enabling. It is perhaps even more damaging then the type of enabling one sees between individuals. Macro enabling is the type of enabling which exists on the grand scale. Some social institutions, such as "welfare", enable large groups of people to continue doing nothing. Until one is hungry, one will not learn to get food for oneself. Instead, one fights over the scraps which society throws ones way. Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day, teach a person to fish and you feed them for a lifetime. Macro enabling prevents large groups of people from learning to fish. Thus, enabling is really disabling.

RELIGION

Ultimately, religions, which are macro belief systems, are only as good as they are truthful. Governments are macro belief systems, yet most governments are based on religions. What good is a government if it does not agree with the laws of the Ultimate Governor, God. What people believe the truth to be dictates how they will behave. Religions are sets of beliefs regarding what people believe to be truth. The more people are in agreement with a particular religion, the more predictable their behavior.
