How To Become Enlightened

GIFTS OF ILLUMINATION

IMPROVED UNDERSTANDING

As one becomes more and more illuminated one begins to notice that one gains new "powers". These "powers" are gifts from God given in response to the removal of obstructions to God. First of all, one gains understanding of how one has been dealing with ones pain. Illumination enables one to observe love instead of pain. Often, ones illumination offers understanding, and thus, forgiveness. Forgiveness is letting go of resentment, which is a type of pain, by knowing the truth. Thus, one may gain understanding which enables one to let go of pain instead of clinging to it. Free from pain one is joyful and content.

One also gains understanding of ones environment and ones place and position within ones environment. As the veils of ignorance are lifted away, the confusion and uncertainty regarding oneself and the world is expelled giving one a more clear understanding of life and reality.

IMPROVED MEMORY

Next, ones memory improves. As ones beliefs are reconciled with the truth, they take on an orderly shape. Ones brain "chemistry" and "neural connections" actually change. All of ones beliefs begin to align themselves with the One True Core Belief which is belief in God. Consequently, ones conscious mind is allowed better access to the wealth of knowledge in ones subconscious. Ones electrical brain activity becomes more cohesive. As one becomes more illuminated, the storage and retrieval of knowledge becomes much more efficient. It is as if one has implemented new office procedures which are much more organized. Before, ones aberrant beliefs caused memories of the truth to be "too painful" to remember. In reality, it was the aberrant beliefs themselves that were causing the pain, not the truth.

One may "improve" ones ability to remember things by making sure one does not forget them (discount them as noise) in the first place. One need only make a conscious decision to remember and store data as important knowledge (meaningful observation).

IMPROVED RECOGNITION OF ERROR

When one frees oneself of the pain of an aberrant belief, one continues to see the same ignorance plainly among those people who hold that same aberrant belief. One recognizes pain before one overcomes it, and after one has overcome ones pain, one continues to be able to recognize painful associations in others. How sweet it is to overcome and free oneself of painful beliefs and the bad habits they create.

IMPROVED REACTION TIME

Ones sensory-motor reaction time increases in speed with ones illumination because ones beliefs are aligned, confident, and clean. One who has taken a stand, does not hesitate in indecisiveness for ones beliefs are organized, and thus, no longer contradictory and fragmented. In other words, one exhibits behavior more quickly when ones beliefs are free from doubt.

IMPROVED INTELLIGENCE

Intelligence increases through illumination because sensory observation data is stored and retrieved more readily and more accurately. One stores more correct data in a more organized fashion and has easier access to this data because beliefs that cause one to "forget" are eliminated when ones mind becomes illuminated. What one is left with is the ability to clearly recognize and remember truth, which is useful information. Ones mind operates more smoothly and more logically.

Aberration is not intelligence, so the removal of it distills ones intelligence. When ones associations are organized in truth, ones mind becomes more cohesive and observation information is more easily stored, and remembered.

IMPROVED HEALTH

Illumination of the mind brings health to the body as well as the spirit. Health increases through illumination of beliefs once thought to be true which are not. Excessive smoking, drinking, and other bodily mutilations and obsessions will no longer be desirable once their truth has been illuminated. After all, the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Gluttony, starvation, binging and purging are self destructive and an insult to God. When an ignorant belief that causes such behavior is illuminated, the behavior, and thus, the self-punishment, comes to an end. A healthy mind will manifest a healthy body. Illumination provides energy to do the things one knows are right, and after illumination believes are right, such as exercising and eating healthy foods.

When the mind is no longer confused, the entire body will operate more effectively and more efficiently. A confused mind gives confused, or mixed, signals to the organs of the body. Mixed signals produce a potpourri of biochemical secretions which travel throughout the body via the bloodstream. These secretions can actually harm the body. For example, fear beliefs produce excess adrenaline which will eventually cause damage to the organs of the body. The endocrine system which creates and then distributes secretions through the bloodstream is given its commands directly from the brain which contains the map of ones belief system. When the belief system is organized and in alignment, the endocrine system will operate more efficiently and effectively. The entire auto-immune system improves with illumination.

Aberrant beliefs which are contradictory and which harbor pain, put undo stress upon the entire physiological system. One who illuminates ones aberrant beliefs is able to allow healing to come to ones body. Much of what is called "disease" is simply that- "dis-ease". Illumination brings efficiency and ease to ones entire belief network. Where the roads one takes are well designed, smooth, and direct, there are less "accidents" then when the roads are poorly designed, rocky, twisted, and long. Biochemical "accidents" caused by ones aberrant beliefs result in disease, depression, and general poor health.

REDUCED STRESS

Illumination of stress alone may increase the average lifespan by years as one learns to cope and accept challenging situations. Often, stress is just a result of making distracting observations and having too many expectations. Expectations cause anxiousness. Illumination eliminates anxiety and fear. Not only is one able to handle challenging situations better, one is able to handle more "problems" at once without losing ones cool. Thus, one is more productive and ones blood pressure actually lowers overall.

INCREASED JOY

As one becomes more illuminated, ones general demeanor and attitude about God, ones life, and ones place in the Universe are improved. Ones joy increases as all of the things that were suppressing it are removed. The more ones beliefs are aligned with the truth, the more one is at ease with the truth.

IMPROVED REST

When ones conscious and subconscious minds increase in their cohesion, one finds that one needs less sleep at night. Whereas before, one may have had difficulty falling asleep, now, one no longer worries. One has fewer nightmares, and is able to wake up easier in the morning. In order to have a cohesive mind, work out the contradictions amongst ones beliefs. Many of these conflicts haunt one in symbolic dreams as ones mind tries to resolve them in ones sleep. When these conflicts are resolved through illumination, one needs less sleep at night. Illumination brings peace to ones soul.

DANGEROUS OTHER POWERS

There are powers of illumination which are dangerous to enlightenment if used. Although one may have illuminated one or more beliefs, one is still far from enlightenment. One may wrongly use ones new knowledge for evil purpose doing even greater harm. This is because when one is freed from an aberrant belief, one has power over all of those who are not. This is why it is so important to continue illumination to the point of enlightenment. Be careful not to use ones new found knowledge for self- gain. Should one acquire any so called "supernatural" abilities how easy it would be for one to forget God.

ILLUMINATING SENSORY RECEPTIONS

Illuminating sensory receptions instead of beliefs especially those regarding ones senses enable one to acquire so called "supernatural" abilities. Illumination of ones hearing, for example, gives one supernatural hearing reception. Have you ever seen the television show KUNG FU in which young Grasshopper asks his teacher, Master Po, how it is he can hear the grasshopper in the grass? Master Po responds, "How is it that you cannot!"

Most of the time, one discriminates against meaningful sensory receptions discounting them as "noise". By illuminating these, one is able to find new meaningful observations. Unfortunately, powers gained by illuminating the senses are usually stumbling blocks to enlightenment because they are usually acquired and fed out of ones own self-interest.

Nevertheless, all sensory receptions can be illuminated. The easiest way is through discrimination. In the orchestra of sensory data one is perceiving, one may learn like each musician to pick out and hear each individual instrument. Master one "instrument", then learn how two or more "instruments" work together to create "music". Like hearing, illuminating eyesight will enable one to find more information and meaning in ones vision. Understand how one discriminates sensory data and learn how to better regulate the conscious focus of ones sensory discriminations.

It has been demonstrated by a totally blind man that he can "see" where walls are by detecting changes in the air speed and barometric pressure against his cheeks when he comes near to a wall. Another blind man, can "see" by making clicking noises and listening for their echo like a bat. I cannot read braille, but if I illuminate the sensory discrimination of touch on the tips of my fingers I will be able to discriminate and "see" the patterns of tiny bumps that make up a braille character.

It has been shown repeatedly that reading comprehension and reading speed can be increased by illuminating the reading process. Stop using ones eye like an ear, and allow oneself to see an entire page of data, observing the important new information and ignoring what one already "knows". Learn how to find truth and breeze through what one reads finding the truth one seeks regarding those things that remain unknown and clarity regarding what knowledge one already has.

Taste and smell, like the other senses, can be illuminated too. Think of a wine taster. Most of us cannot tell the difference between a $10 bottle of wine and a $100 bottle of wine, let alone be able to identify what types of grapes were used, how old the wine is, what type of cask was used, and where the grapes were grown. To the untrained taster, the sophisticated wine taster might seem to have "supernatural" tasting powers.

ILLUMINATING ORGAN FUNCTION

You may have seen yogis on TV who are able to hold their breath underwater for several minutes and slow their heart rates way down. This is not necessarily magic, nor the work of the Devil. (However, there may be a dangerous underlying philosophy of practitioners of these arts.) It is simply mastery over the organs of the flesh. As with biofeedback, one may learn to concentrate and train ones organs in the same way one learns to walk, by practice. Listen, or "pay attention", to the sound of ones own heartbeat, and hear it beating. The sound of ones own heartbeat is something one usually ignores as noise. "Hear", or "see", ones organs, and learn to control them just as one has learned to hold ones breath. This is biofeedback.

Ones organs are not the only parts of ones body one may control. Control all parts of ones body through illumination and discrimination of ones sensory reception. Everything from ones joints to ones blood is regulated by conscious thought. Ones entire body is alive, even ones bones.

Not only can one affect ones body by conscious thought, one can affect the way that one digests ones food. And why not? The survival of ones flesh is dependent upon eating matter and breaking apart this matter in ones digestive system. This matter, when distributed to the cells of the body, provides energy and releases heat throughout the body.

ILLUMINATING EMOTIONS

Emotion is the result of feelings of loss of control. Surprise or trauma, skews, or exaggerates, sensory reception and causes one to associate emotion into ones observations. Emotional associations are made when one makes observations during times of surprise or trauma. Whether pleasurable or painful, these associations are based on desire. Painful associations are aberrations which corrode beliefs. Illumination removes the tarnish of pain from ones beliefs which were caused by emotional observations.

It has been said that great actors can cry on cue. How can this be? It is because they have learned to remember pain at will. If one can be sad on cue, one can be happy on cue by remembering happiness. One problem several actors have is that they are so good at acting, (which is basically lying), and so good at living in the past, that they have a hard time being "real" and expressing true and natural emotion in the present because they are so conscious of their emotions. Thus it is, that truly illuminating ones emotions may bring an end to ones acting career because acting requires calling upon emotional and often painful beliefs. If one has overcome past pains and pleasures, how can one draw on their harbored emotion? Nevertheless, how empty life can be if one is acting all the time. There may be some truth to the expression that "actors never stop".

RECONCILIATIONS AND REPARATIONS OF IGNORANCE

Illumination by its very nature, automatically organizes ones priorities. Before one ventures out into the world to help others, first help oneself. Before reconciling ones relationships with strangers, one reconciles ones relationships with the people one already knows. Before reconciling oneself to the present, reconcile ones past, making amends for the hurt one has caused others in ones ignorance. Free oneself of the pain, fear, and resentment one harbors regarding those in ones past.

-Make reparations for the neglect of oneself and ones environment. In ones ignorance one may have neglected bills, jobs, health, and other things in ones environment that affect one directly. How can one become an example to others that has not first become an example to oneself.

-Reconcile oneself with ones family in a spirit of love. One may have strayed from ones own family in ones ignorance. One may have children in need of a loving parent. Perhaps one may have neglected ones child support. Perhaps one was cut off from ones parents or other family members as a result of ones ignorance. It is never too late for love.

-Reconcile oneself with ones spiritual family before going out to illuminate the world. Reconcile oneself with others of like belief. This is the family of truth. A lost sheep, which has been found, rejoins the fold. Before leading others into the fold of truth, make sure one is oneself a welcome member.

-Reconcile ones loves. One may have been hurt or may have hurt others in ones ignorance. Forgive and understand others and ask for forgiveness and understanding from those one has oneself hurt.

-Reconcile ones friendships. One may have made enemies in ones past. Do not carry any resentment or anger. Resentment and anger are pain. Face ones enemies and make friends with them. Surprise ones enemies by doing good to them. Often, ones enemy is oneself. The "sin of me" is my enemy. Making amends is not painful, but actually liberating.

ILLUMINATING THE WORLD

Where does the flesh end and the spirit begin? You are a spiritual being. Spiritual people do spiritual things. Do not limit your spirit to your flesh. Take away your arm, and there you still are. Take away any single cell of your body and there you still are, complete in spirit. Why let ones selfishness trap oneself within ones flesh? If one limits oneself to ones flesh, one will die with ones flesh. If one puts ones identity in God, one is not trapped in ones flesh. After all, God is omnipresent.

Look for God in everyone that you meet. We all have influence over each other and our environment. Everyone who has been in love with someone already understands part of this truth. Ones spiritual gifts are not limited to ones own flesh as spiritual gifts are not of the flesh. Can you feel another's happiness or sadness? Cannot they feel yours? If through God, one may heal oneself, then through God, one may heal others. In the very least, one may heal others who do not know how to heal themselves through example and by teaching them.

You cannot give what you do not have. You cannot give love, until you have love to give. You cannot give light, until you have light to give. What good is it to bring a torch into darkness that is not lit? Why take a matchstick into the wind? A tiny flame will be blown out by the wind, however, a fire that is strong in faith, may be fanned by the wind. Make sure that you are aflame with the fire of truth before you attempt to set the world on fire. Faith is the fuel of the flame.

The entire world needs to be illuminated, for it is full of darkness. Be careful, for when one carries a flaming torch against the wind one gets burned now and then. Yet, into the wind and darkness the light must go! When you venture into the darkness to do good, expect to have evil done to you. Though others do only evil to you, still, do only good to them in return, for goodness illuminates evil.

When you have illuminated pain from your life it is like finding your way out of a burning house. You are no longer a victim of the fire of ignorance. When you have escaped the flames, do not run back inside the burning house to be burned again! Can one miss pain so much? In truth, there is an alternative!

Extinguish the flames and every spark and ember which remains. Clear away the old structure and rebuild a fire station on a solid new foundation. Become a firefighter for truth and quench the flames of ignorance wherever they may glow. Let go of the world and the world will let go of you.

One of the most interesting phenomenon of illumination is that when one illuminates oneself, one finds that the world itself seems to become more illuminated. When one is content, one finds and sees contentment not only within oneself, but elsewhere as well. When one is content, the world seems more contented. When one is depressed, the entire world seems more depressing.

MAKING DECISIONS

Make all future decisions in such a way that you will not have to illuminate them later. When making new decisions, make sure that you do so correctly. Check the validity and truthfulness of your premises. Observe only truth and avoid making associations which contain pain and pleasure. Verify the truth that one accepts blindly from others. Get all the facts you can before you make a decision.

Whatever one gains, one needs to maintain. Just as one needs to tune-up ones car from time to time, ones beliefs need preventative maintenance as well. Check ones beliefs from time to time to make sure that they are still truthful and that no evil has attached itself to them. Check ones alignment to make sure that one is aligned with God. One may check ones beliefs using the Process of Illumination.
